Going Nuts

Greatings and salutations!

Today I want to talk to you guys about “Going Nuts”. Nuts are great for snacking , adding a little flavour to your dishes and smoothies. I really want to try the different types of nut butters because I’ve BEEN on that peanut butter forever and it’s time to try other things. I will just be sharing on 4 types of nuts today and I hope it will be insightful.

Cashew Nuts

These are my favourite so they had to be first on the list! My mom kinda tricked me into liking them I forgive her though because they are divine!!!

It has fat that is good for the heart e.g oleic, and palmitoleic acids . Is packed with essential minerals such as manganese, potassium, copper, iron, magnesium, zinc, and selenium. They are a great source of Vitamin B1, B6 and B5.

Macadamia

I used to think that they tasted like candle wax, but I know better now. These are very low in Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Thiamin, and a very good source of Manganese. It is also a great source of fibre. Macadamias are an excellent source of minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese and zinc. Has the B Vitamins: niacin, pyridoxine (vitamin B-6), thiamin, and riboflavin.

Peanuts

The popular one! These are a great source of protein and energy. The kernels are an excellent source of vitamin E (a-tocopherol) which is a powerful lipid soluble antioxidant which helps maintain the integrity of cell membrane of mucus membranes and skin by protecting from harmful oxygen free radicals. These nuts are also packed with many important B-complex groups of vitamins such as riboflavin, niacin, thiamin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B-6, and folates.

Almonds

One of the healthiest tree nuts. Almonds are a source of vitamin E, copper, magnesium, and high quality protein. Contains unsaturated fatty acids can help prevent cardiovascular heart diseases. Are a rich fibre source.
